Moist Flowers In Early December Rains

A photo on livingroom wall. Framed and vibrant in the overcast gray sky that permeates December days through the window. Orange brightness, with springtime dew, captured weeping for posterity, while the darkness ebbs with the winter solstice looming less than three weeks from today. Hope springs eternal, it is said, and orange leaves--alive in Kodachrome--cast truth to that notion.
