The fact that the 800 is even reasonably acceptable, really speaks well of the Fuji. These situations are where a DSLR will shine (literally)- more light coming in the lens, combined with improved sensor and signal processing that can handle higher ISO. 1600 is fine if you simply must get a shot and will totally miss it at half the shutter speed.
